This impact campaign budget example is from an actual impact campaign led by Peace is Loud. The budget is for a campaign that centered protagonist support, partnership support, a pillar screening event, and original resource creation.
Of note is that the cost of labor is not included in the budget, as Peace is Loud worked pro-bono on this campaign. While this was our model for this project, we emphasize the need to equitably compensate the person leading the impact campaign work (often referred to as an Impact Producer).
In addition, this budget includes direct compensation for the film participants. We encourage filmmakers to consider compensation as a way to integrate participant care, and also acknowledge the complexities that financial compensation can present (from questions around legal jeopardy, to participant safety, to funder and/or distributor limitations). Participant care can be integrated into campaigns, and their budgets, in different ways—we encourage you to check out Peace is Loud’s participant care resources to learn more.
