Women, War & Peace
Women, War & Peace is the critically acclaimed five-part series that looks at war through women’s eyes. In five films, Women, War & Peace travels to Bosnia, Liberia, Afghanistan, and Colombia to report the stories of women in hotspots all over the world. By placing women at the center of a discourse about global security, the series offers a critically important perspective on war today.
In a multi-year campaign, Peace is Loud distributed nearly 2,000 Screening Series-in-a-Box kits to partners in 85 countries on all seven continents. All five films and accompanying guides are available in Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.
Women, War & Peace returns this spring on PBS with four feature documentaries airing on March 25 and 26. In four films, the series examines once again the powerful role of women in peacebuilding in Northern Ireland, Egypt, Bangladesh, and Palestine.

As part of the impact campaign for the series, Peace is Loud has created the accompanying short film, Women, Peace & Power. The film follows the stories of female activists, politicians, and ordinary citizens in Afghanistan, Liberia, and Northern Ireland as they try to influence peace talks against all odds. This 25-minute film can be used as a training tool for diplomats, policymakers, peacebuilders, and students of international affairs, to spark a discussion on the nexus of gender and security.
